So there is chance for all users to benefit from taking part in solving challenges. To attract a larger number of users to post solutions, you can offer rewards.

All eyes on the new challenge posted. A momentary pause, “Can we do this?”. Everyone exchanges glances, showing signs of hesitation. I wonder what they are thinking. No one says a word, except… “I don’t think we can do this”. And another one “I think we should pass this off for now”. Until I hear Murli, our savior, speak up “Hey, I have a solution. It may sound crazy, but I know it will work”. And we listen to Murli’s story and at the end of it… A loud cheer. “Thats such a cool idea, and so easy. Why did I not think of it?”

So who are all these people? Are they only imaginary or for real. How often do you come across situations where you find yourself in the “Others” shoe or as the likes of “Murli”. At the end of the job, don’t we all draw the same conclusion. So why that hesitation, why the cringe that stops us from thinking or contributing. Why that Fear … the fear of nothing.

The source for this fear may be different for everyone, but by looking at Murli, we could learn more of how we could remove our own fear. Murli was born in a middle class family, has struggled throughout his life. He has been through many adversities, but never did he feel let down. Every single time he kept going on, for he knew the was always something good in the offing. Every time he faced an obstacle he found his way out of it and moved ahead. He calls his obstacles just another experience. Experiences may be good or bad, but always carry a lesson. It is how we interpret and absorb it, is what really matters. Like Murli there are many many stories, stories of people who fear nothing and have made a name for themselves.

We confess till sometime back this aspect did not exist in Jugaadu.com.

As Jugaadu.com was growing, the team at times felt that it had a bland and not so attractive looks despite great content. We did not want to compromise on any aspect of Jugaadu.com. We started wondering on how to make it more attractive. We kept thinking what was missing on the site that it looked dulll…and one day we had our EUREKA moment. Team finally discovered, it was the fun part that was missing on the site and an immediate unanimous decision was made to get some cartoons up on the site.

This decision brought up another Challenge - Who would make these cartoons? None of us knew anyone who could even remotely work on this area, but the team was determined and took up the challenge. Soon we had cracked the Challenge..Yes we got a cartoonist…

We found our cartoonist ..KRITISH BHATT from Indore (India). I must say Jugaadu.com is very fortunate to have such a great cartoonist. All the cartoons that you see on the site are creation of this wonder guy. He has truely given the site a brighter feel.

As we were building and introducing the new concept feature on the sit - promoting zero wastage of ideas, we realised that it might become difficult for the concept owners to manage and productively use the inputs given by various members. Jugaadu.com team started thinking of a tool through which the concept owners could easily manage the the inputs.

After a lot of thoughts was put into this aspect, team decided to introduce the SWOT analysis tool in this section.

What is SWOT analysis?

SWOT analysis is strategic planning method used to evaluate the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats involved in the project or business.

To use this tool , the owner must review each input and classify under respective headings and then see

• How can STRENGTHS be used
• How can WEAKNESSES be stopped
• How can OPPORTUNITIES be exploited
• How can each THREAT be defended

In case a owner feel that a particular input does not fit in any of the four headings, they can put it in the GENERAL INPUTS box and use them if required.

Everything seemed to be falling just into the right place, so now we had to focus on organizing the site.We were sure that the site would cater only to creative and resourceful ideas but those had to be arranged systematically. A lot of time was spent thinking on these lines and finally decision was made to distribute the information under three heads.

Lets go through them one by one.

1. Jugaads: This section would cater to ideas and solutions already existing. Users need not essentially be the creator or owner of the concepts. Here they would be only reporting and sharing the greta concept with the entire world.
2. New Concepts: Most of us keep getting new ideas and often we let them go waste. Jugaadu.com respects every idea and believes in zero wastage . It offers you a platform whereby you can put your unrealised concepts and new ideas which you feel could better develop if shared with resourceful people. You can put up your ideas here, discuss them , get inputs analyze them and who knows it might turn out to be a great invention in the future.
3. Challenges: Each one of us faces mny challenges in due course of life and many a times though we are able to find a way out, we know that the solution is not really an optimum one and this thought keeps bothering us…To get our users do away with this botheration Jugaadu.com offers the Challenges platform where a user can put up real life challenges and seek resourceful solutions by our great Jugaadu minds

As planning for this very special site picked up, there was another very important and crucial task for team jugaadu. Yes it was to get our website logo designed.

Logo design as we all know is for immediate recognition, inspiration, trust and admiration. Thus it formed a very important aspect of jugaadu.com and had to be taken up n priority basis.

We conducted a lot of meetings within the team to discuss on the basic design of the logo . All of us fortunately reached a consensus that the logo must interpret the Jugaadu spirit. It had to be attractive yet very meaningful with respect to Jugaadu.

Next, with stars going in our favor Jugaadu.com got a great designer Pankaj Maheshwari. We communicated our idea to him. we held many meetings , exchanged 1000s of images and sketches to finally get to our logo.

The alphabets of the logo are actually different objects put together to form this powerful word.

After deciding on the name and gradually getting clearer on the meaning of “Jugaadu”, it was now time to start preparing the site.

We knew we were making a networking site but since its inception we wanted it to be unique. There had to be a purpose behind the site and what better than creativity and innovation. After a lot of heated debates and discussions, we thought of having another feature to the site that wouls attract many users. This feature was called “Deals”. Through this section we wanted to apprise people with the best possible prices of various products across.

Great Idea we thought…but were we really in the right direction??

We took the next step soon and developed the site as decided with 2 main features

1) Jugaad: Dealing with the innovation and creativity aspect

2) Deals : This was the commercial aspect of the site.

All this kept happening, but somewhere we had a doubt…were we committing a mistake?? What could it be??

All through we kept discussing with various people and we got a mixed response. Then came a turning point in the life of jugaadu.com We approached Mr Rajeev Karwal (CEO Milagrow) to discuss Jugaadu.com’s state. It was He who made us understand that having too much in one site would not only be difficult to manage but would also make us lose our focus and we did realise that ever since deals had cropped up , Jugaad as a concept was less talked about within us. He guided us to focus on one thing and let it take its time to grow.

Jugaadu team met up again and discussed the meeting with Mr Karwal and thats when everyone realised the fact that JUGAADU.com is a very very special name, a great and extraordinary concept and so we as developers must respect its meaning and individuality and not mix it up with anything just for monetary gains.

Ever since JUGAADU.com is only about creativity, resourcefulness, inventions and innovations.

Jugaadu/Jugaads are words or rather concepts that have developed over a period of time. Thus as we went by various articles in magazines, newspapers, internet tc. And also as we spoke to people from various backgrounds we realized that this word not only has a wide usage but also a variety of meanings to its credit. Lets see

Jugaad is a colloquial hindi word that means a quick or easy fix or a resource that can be used as is. Earlier this word had a stigma attached to it – a slight connotation of sly, unfair and cunning behavior was attached to this word. Gradually with what s called the standardization of language by the linguists this word has upgraded to a more popular meaning.

“Jugaad” now refers to creative improvisation and finding alternatives and ways of doing improbable things. Jugaad has nothing to do with the kind of education one has or grooming up that one gets. It rather tells us more about the ability of a person to think out of the box and optimize resources in the best possible way.

And this is exactly what Jugaadu team wishes to carry forward through the site.

Jugaadu/Jugaad are words which have a strong recognition in India. We are said to have this mysterious yet very valuable and powerful technology with us called the “ Jugaadu Technology”.

Having seen and observed the strength and credibility of Jugaadus within India and the recognition of this strength beyond the boundaries of the nation , we thought of sharing this concept on the World Wide Web.

The Idea is simple

“ To organize the unorganized sector of Jugaadus showcasing their talent and innovations to the entire world at large.”

Having got this idea we blocked the name “JUGAADU.com” on WWW for a very fruitful purpose and started developments on the same.
